The Data Migration Manager will lead all data migration activities for the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation, ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely migration of clinical and operational data from legacy systems into the new EPR platform. The postholder will work closely with clinical, operational, digital, and supplier teams to deliver migration activities aligned to programme timelines, governance standards, and patient safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the EPR data migration strategy and plan.
- Lead data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and migration activities.
- Coordinate migration testing, mock migrations, cutover, and go-live support.
- Manage migration risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Ensure compliance with NHS data standards, GDPR, and Information Governance requirements.
- Work with clinical and operational stakeholders to validate migrated data.
- Manage suppliers and technical teams delivering ETL and migration processes.
- Provide reporting and assurance to programme governance boards.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience managing large-scale data migration projects.
- Experience supporting EPR/EHR implementations within the National Health Service or healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes, data quality, and migration methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of NHS Information Governance and healthcare data standards.
Desirable
- Experience with EPR platforms such as Epic Systems, Oracle Health, or Dedalus.
- PRINCE2, Agile, or related project management qualification.
