Our client is a dynamic diagnostics company transforming private blood testing across the UK. With a network of modern clinics and a state-of-the-art laboratory accredited to UKAS ISO 15189, they combine cutting-edge technology with a commitment to accuracy and patient care.
They’re looking for an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Haematology) to join their growing team and make a real impact.
What You’ll Do
- Perform and interpret blood films, morphology, and coagulation testing.
- Validate Haematology results independently, escalating clinical concerns when needed.
- Lead technical management of haematology equipment, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with engineers.
- Oversee IQC, EQA, calibrations, and method verifications.
- Mentor and support junior staff, including training and competency assessments.
- Maintain SOPs and ensure compliance with UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
- Participate in audits, investigations, and CAPAs.
- Support other lab areas and join the weekend/out-of-hours rota when required.
About You
- BSc in Biomedical Science with HCPC registration.
- Minimum 6 years post-registration experience in Haematology within an accredited lab.
- Strong experience in blood film review, morphology, and coagulation.
- Confident working independently with excellent clinical judgment.
- In-depth knowledge of Haematology, coagulation, and UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
- Excellent organisational, mentoring, and communication skills.
- IT proficient (MS Office, LIMS, QMS).
