We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Systems Project Manager to join a high-profile programme delivering laboratory technology solutions across a diverse portfolio of scientific and operational environments. This is an exciting opportunity for a project professional with experience in LIMS, laboratory informatics, scientific systems or digital transformation to lead the successful delivery of business-critical projects. Working remotely as part of a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, you will oversee projects from initial planning through to implementation, deployment and transition into operational support.
While experience with LabWare LIMS is highly desirable, we welcome applications from candidates who have managed laboratory systems, scientific software or regulated technology projects within life sciences, diagnostics, manufacturing, healthcare, environmental testing or related sectors.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the successful delivery of laboratory systems projects, including implementations, upgrades, integrations, enhancements and multi-site deployments.
- Partner with laboratory, quality, IT and business stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, timelines and success measures.
- Develop and maintain project plans, resource forecasts, risk registers, budgets and delivery reports.
- Coordinate internal teams, third-party vendors, consultants and technology partners to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Drive project governance activities, including stakeholder engagement, steering committee updates and executive reporting.
- Support requirements gathering, process design, testing, validation activities and deployment planning.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with regulatory, quality and data integrity requirements where applicable.
- Oversee testing, defect resolution, training, cutover planning and post-implementation support activities.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies and issues, ensuring effective mitigation plans are in place.
- Facilitate integrations between laboratory systems, instruments, ERP platforms, reporting solutions and enterprise applications.
- Promote best practice project delivery standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven experience managing laboratory systems, LIMS, scientific IT or enterprise application projects.
- Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex technology programmes from initiation to completion.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams across operations, quality, technology and external suppliers.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver successful outcomes in fast-paced environments.
- Understanding of regulated environments and quality-driven processes.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with LabWare LIMS, LabWare implementations or laboratory informatics platforms.
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, sample lifecycle management and scientific workflows.
- Familiarity with Computer Systems Validation (CSV), GxP, GMP, GLP, ISO standards or data integrity principles.
- Experience delivering projects involving system integrations, laboratory instruments, ERP systems, APIs or cloud-hosted applications.
- Formal project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, Scrum or APM.
Qualifications
