We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Clinical Application Manager to join our Group IT function. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the technology that underpins clinical excellence across a large, complex, and fast-moving healthcare organisation.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years’ experience supporting and managing clinically facing IT applications within large-scale organisations (approx. £250M+ revenue, 5,000+ users, 20+ sites).
- 3+ years’ team leadership experience, including managing complex workloads and delivering large-scale projects.
- A strong background in service delivery, including managing relationships with third-party suppliers.
- Up-to-date understanding of data protection, information security, and information governance.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer-focused skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across clinicians, operational teams, IT colleagues, and suppliers.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving ability, including data analysis and reporting using established tools.
- The ability to translate technical information into clear, accessible language for non-technical audiences.
- Experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing team members.
- Experience working in a private healthcare clinical or IT environment.
- ITIL certification (required).
- Experience in designing and delivering application training.
- High levels of self-motivation, organisation, and initiative, with a proactive approach to personal development and continuous learning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, service desk management systems, and analytical tools — including SQL scripting.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of clinical application specialists, providing direction, support, and ongoing professional development.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment that champions knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and provide constructive feedback to support growth.
- Oversee the development and implementation of strategies that enhance, evolve, or replace clinical applications - driving efficiency, supporting high-quality patient care, and enabling operational innovation.
- Manage the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of clinical applications, ensuring performance, stability, security, and alignment with evolving organisational needs.
- Create, maintain, and continuously improve robust testing methodologies to ensure consistent, high-quality testing of upgrades, new functionality, and new systems - working closely with suppliers and internal teams to identify and resolve issues.
