London (Hybrid) - open to remote across Europe
IT Search is exclusively partnered with a globally recognised digital platform to hire a Lead Front-End Engineer. The company runs a highly visible, consumer-facing website used by millions worldwide and plays a central role in its space.
Despite its scale, engineering teams remain small and well-resourced, giving senior engineers real ownership and influence. This is a high-impact front-end role within a business that prioritises product quality, technical standards, and long-term platform evolution.
The Role
You’ll lead a team of around five front-end engineers working on a large, complex web platform built on a modern stack and tightly integrated with internal APIs. The role combines hands-on development with responsibility for technical direction, prioritisation, and team leadership. You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and API teams to shape how new features are delivered and how the platform continues to scale. The split is roughly 50/50 between coding and leading, with scope to influence architecture and longer-term technical decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong front-end engineering experience in high-traffic or large-scale web environments
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers and taking ownership of delivery and standards
- Solid experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Good understanding of functional programming principles
- Comfortable in a role with real visibility and influence across the business
- Experience or interest in search, SEO, or subscription-based products is highly desirable
Package: £110–130K + bonus up to 20%, excellent benefits, hybrid working in London, with remote options available across most of Europe.
