About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on UAV Prototyping Engineer to join an advanced engineering team developing next-generation drone systems. This role covers the full product lifecycle — from concept design through to prototyping, testing, and production — in a fast-paced, R&D-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop UAV systems from initial concept to production
  • Build, test, and iterate drone prototypes
  • Contribute to design for manufacture and component selection
  • Support field testing, customer trials, and product validation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and production
  • Lead or contribute to design and development projects

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 3–5 years’ experience with multi-rotor UAV platforms
  • Strong understanding of:
  • UAV electronics and propulsion
  • Communication protocols and RF systems
  • Hands-on experience with UAV build and prototyping
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools (e.g. SolidWorks or Fusion 360)
  • Experience reading and producing engineering drawings
  • Desirable

    • Experience with flight systems (e.g. Ardupilot, Pixhawk, Betaflight)
    • PCB or electronics design experience
    • 3D printing or rapid prototyping capability
    • Drone pilot certification (A2 CofC / GVC)
    • Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
