About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Field Operations Manager to lead and deliver UAV field operations across a wide range of applications. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing operational delivery in the field, including demonstrations, training, technical support, and system trials. You will oversee a team of pilots and technicians while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The role requires a proactive, organised individual with strong technical awareness and the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Project Delivery
- Plan, coordinate, and execute field operations including: system demonstrations, customer deployments, field service, maintenance, and repairs, research and development trials.
- Develop operational plans considering airspace restrictions, regulatory requirements, and client needs.
- Coordinate approvals and logistics to ensure successful delivery of field activities.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UAV pilots and technical specialists.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all team members are trained and competent in both operation and maintenance of systems.
- Customer Engagement & Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers requiring: service and maintenance, operational support, technical guidance.
- Manage inbound and outbound enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Training & Capability Development
- Coordinate and deliver training for: internal personnel, external customers.
- Ensure all operators meet required competency and compliance standards.
- Compliance & Safety
- Maintain strict adherence to UAV regulations and operational safety standards.
- Implement and enforce company procedures and best practices across all field activities.
- Manage risk and incident response in operational environments.
