We’d like to see candidates from national infrastructure backgrounds such as construction, energy, rail, highways, utilities, oil & gas, mining etc, as it’s important to understand how programme financials work in these types of settings. In this role you will be involved in programme values between £400m and £2bn so prior exposure managing these sorts of budgets is essential. Any additional understanding of utilities or national infrastructure regulation and compliance would be a bonus. As you’ll be supporting the strategic leadership team with financial data, you’ll need strong knowledge of excel, and Oracle’s Primavera P6 platform would be a nice-to-have.

  • Career experience as a Programme Controller / Programme Analyst / Programme Cost Controller or similar role supporting the delivery of infrastructure / capital projects
  • Strong ability to understand financial data and draw conclusions on project overspending and general forecasting
  • Sector experience – infrastructure backgrounds such as construction, energy, rail, highways, utilities, oil & gas, mining etc are preferred
  • Financial reporting: Excellent grasp of Excel and working with data, with Oracle’s Primavera P6 platform a bonus
  • Adept in working on large-budget asset management / capital investment programmes (£400m – £2bn) across national infrastructure
  • PMI, APM, MRICS or similar qualifications / background would be good to see, as would any finance-based degrees or perhaps an MSc in project management – but career experience is equally important

This Programme Controller / Programme Analyst / Programme Cost Controller offers a competitive salary of £60,000 to £75,000 plus bonus plus excellent benefits. You’ll sit in a growing team with supportive and present management and there is plenty of scope to grow and develop.
