Cost Control Lead / Lead Cost Engineer wanted by a defence consultancy supporting a large-scale UK defence manufacturing programme in Derby, which is critical to national security. You must be a sole UK citizen to apply, and ideally hold SC Clearance. However, we are also able to consider individuals who are eligible for SC Clearance, as long as you are a sole UK national.
This Cost Control Lead role will see you take full ownership of programme-level financial control across a complex and highly secure defence environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate budgets, robust forecasting and high-quality monthly reporting across major programme scope.
This Cost Control Lead position requires strong experience operating at senior level within cost control or project controls environments, ideally within large infrastructure or defence programmes. As a Cost Control Lead, you will be accountable for maintaining financial stability across the programme and ensuring all cost reporting is accurate, timely and decision-ready. You’d also support governance, stakeholder reporting and cost performance analysis across multiple workstreams.
- Sole UK nationals, ideally holding SC Clearance (or eligible for)
- Strong experience as a Lead Cost Controller or Cost Manager
- Experience within defence, infrastructure or complex capital programmes is essential
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting experience
- Ability to operate in regulated environments
This role offers a competitive salary of between £80k and £120k plus benefits, with 3 days per week onsite in Derby. Sole UK Nationality and SC clearance (eligibility) is essential.
