We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport Team for our Consumer sector at our Daventry site. You will contribute to the success of the transport team and be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. You should be highly motivated and able to work in a quick, fast-paced environment and manage day-to-day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights
Salary: £33,000 Per Annum
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Work with Transport and Warehouse teams to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
- Assemble 400+ consolidated orders into loads every 24 hours.
- Subcontract and plan orders from multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
- Plan daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and outbases.
- Report problems and deal with issues and any queries that may arise.
- Plan approximately 100 collections per day on a time-critical basis.
- Maintain and exceed agreed KPIs.
- Proactively look for continuous improvements.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working to meet business requirements, particularly at peak periods during the year.
Qualifications:
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Experience of planning units across multiple depots.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment.
- Customer focus on delivery performance.
- Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
- Experience of using a TMS system.
- Experience in an FMCG environment.
- Strong analytical and Excel capability across standard formulas.
