This is a hands‑on role combining e‑commerce operations, technical support, field engineering, and business development within a small business environment where initiative, reliability, and quick thinking matter.

Working style

  • This role is NOT a narrowly defined desk job.
  • It suits someone who is dependable, adaptable, and comfortable switching between office work, customer support, site visits, and commercial activity while helping two small, growing businesses operate effectively.

At a glance

  • Office‑based role with regular on‑site client work
  • Morning presence is important for order processing and dispatch
  • Best suited to someone who enjoys variety and ownership

What the role covers

  • ITG e‑commerce operations and customer support
  • XCN on‑site installs, temporary connectivity, and live‑event support
  • Sales, networking, tenders, and relationship building across both businesses

Role overview and key responsibilities (What you’ll be doing)

ITG operations and e‑commerce

  • Manage daily order processing, fulfillment, stock control, returns, and courier coordination.
  • Support customer enquiries, product guidance, and order‑related problem solving.
  • Work to daily dispatch timelines, with particular focus on the morning order cut‑off window.

Technical support and device preparation

  • Provide first‑line support, log and manage tickets, and elevate more complex issues where needed.
  • Prepare and configure routers, firewalls, and related networking equipment for customer deployment.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and network issues with a calm, structured approach.

XCN field engineering and on‑site work

  • Attend client sites to install networking equipment and temporary internet solutions.
  • Support stop‑gap connectivity during office moves, construction projects, and temporary setups.
  • Act as an on‑site technical presence for broadcasting, filming, events, and festivals where rapid diagnosis is essential.

Sales and business development

  • Attend networking events and build relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Identify opportunities, support tenders and proposals, and follow up commercial leads.
  • Contribute to broader growth by combining technical credibility with strong customer engagement.

Qualifications

This role is open to candidates without prior direct experience in networking or IT, provided they demonstrate strong motivation, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. The staged progression in compensation reflects both the training investment made by the company and the expectation that the successful candidate will quickly develop the skills required to contribute independently across operational, technical, and client‑facing responsibilities.

Skills and profile

  • Strong communication and customer‑facing confidence
  • Proactive, hands‑on mindset with good troubleshooting instincts
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, mainly within London and surrounding areas
  • Interest in networking, infrastructure, or cybersecurity
  • Exposure to IT, networking, or technical study
  • Comfort working in a small team where duties can vary from day to day
  • Ability to build trust with clients and spot commercial opportunities
