SALARY SCALE: £25,000 with possible increase after 6-month probation period to £30,000.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Social Work Practice Development Manager

LOCATION: Berkshire, London and SE of England

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

  • This post may also provide the opportunity for undertaking some direct work with children and young people and parenting work (teaching parents involved with the service positive parenting practices) with parents and their children in their homes and at the residential parent and child assessment service.
  • You will work across all areas of the organisation that will include Residential Parent and Child Assessment Unit, ISWP Social Work Based Community Team where the expectations will be to undertake regular unsocial hours as normal practice. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary for all the different work in different services. It will be an expectation to work daytime hours, waking nights, weekend, Bank Holiday and On Call.
  • Monitor and Supervise Parents or Birth Families interactions with their children who are supported by FFAS (Flourishing Families Assessment Services) and ISWP.
  • Facilitating Family Time sessions, supervising time spent for children with significant family members particularly birth parents with whom the child does not live with. The Facilitating role will be to arrange, supervise and record the content of this contact in line with ISWP Assessment Services Ltd recording requirements.
  • The Family Time will take place in the Community across Berkshire, London SE of England or at FFAS (Flourishing Families Assessment Service).
  • The post also includes completing Welfare Visits to homes of families involved with social services where there may be welfare concerns for children. The welfare visits are completed on weekends, unsociable hours and on Bank Holidays and this service is provided as back up to Local Authorities social work teams.
  • The post also includes other duties and responsibilities as determined and assigned by ISWP as per the requirement of our clients.

ATTRIBUTES ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Education and Qualifications: Social Work England Registered, Eligible to work in the UK, A full UK driving license holder.
  • Experience and Knowledge: Knowledge of Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation, Basic IT skills, Ability to undertake and complete detailed Assessments of need and risk.
  • Ability and Skills: Good interpersonal skills including to make positive relationships with children, their caregivers and birth family members, Good report writing and verbal reasoning skills, Organisational, coordination skills, Communication and Planning ability, Ability to prioritise a complex caseload and unexpected situations, Ability to travel effectively to different locations, Demonstrate professionalism in accordance to the PQ standards (Post Qualifying) and SWEPS (Social Work England Professional Standards) skills for child and family social work, Ability to work in a team, Ability to undertake ongoing and mandatory training.
  • Working as part of a team: We expect all our AYSE to work as part of a Team as well as being able to work days of the week and night time.
