The ISW Parenting Assessor will carry out comprehensive parenting assessments for court proceedings and local authority instructions, focusing on risk, capacity to change, and the best interests of the child. This full-time hybrid role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with a mix of in-person visits, meetings, and remote report writing from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Planning and conducting home visits
- Interviewing parents, carers, and children
- Liaising with professionals
- Reviewing case files
- Gathering collateral information
- Analyzing findings
- Applying relevant frameworks and legislation
- Producing clear, structured, and evidence-based reports suitable for court and multi-agency settings

Qualifications:

- Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills, including the ability to synthesize large volumes of information into clear, evidence-based recommendations
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation, relevant guidance, and best practice in child protection, permanency planning, and risk assessment
- Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with children, parents, and carers from diverse backgrounds and in challenging circumstances
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload, meet strict deadlines, and work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Competence in using standard IT tools for report writing, secure communication, and electronic case management
- Enhanced DBS (or equivalent) clearance and ongoing commitment to professional development, supervision, and reflective practice
