As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering the assigned lessons in accordance with the scheme provided by the Academic Department and the Director of Education / Programme Leader. All teaching must comply with prescribed scientific and quality standards and meet CAA requirements. You will support students in achieving their educational objectives and report any critical issues to the Director of Education and/or the Area Programme Leader. You will also prepare teaching materials related to your discipline as requested by the Director of Education / Programme Leader and Istituto Marangoni, in compliance with CAA standards. Additionally, you will maintain and update your curriculum vitae as required by the Director of Education / Programme Leader and in accordance with legal and CAA standards.
Key purpose of the job
- Teaching Activity
- Deliver assigned lessons for BA and MA courses.
- Plan and conduct educational activities using clear and appropriate approaches for students, following the Scheme of Work (SOW) to ensure achievement of established learning objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Education / Programme Leader to enhance the student learning experience.
- Assist in drafting and periodically reviewing educational programs.
- Work with the faculty to create a dynamic, scientifically advanced environment.
- Be available for visiting professor assignments at other Italian or international universities.
- Students’ Tutoring
- Organize classroom or laboratory activities to support student success.
- Monitor and report any critical issues to the Director of Education / Programme Leader.
- When supervising projects, ensure the quality and academic rigor of the student’s final work.
- CV Development & R&D Activities
- Maintain and update your curriculum vitae in line with ministerial (CAA) requirements.
- Strengthen scientific, research, and recognition activities annually to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
Education / Professional Background
- A Master’s degree in the relevant area of expertise (mandatory requirement).
- PhD is considered an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience at an international institution (university level or higher).
- Proven industry experience in Fashion Design, preferably within the luxury sector.
- Awareness of contemporary fashion markets and brand positioning.
- Ability to bridge creative design with commercial awareness.
- Education Qualification Equivalency from the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
- Proven experience teaching students across diverse age groups and skill levels (undergraduate and postgraduate).
- Demonstrated ability to create educational materials and extracurricular activities that challenge students and align with curriculum objectives.
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail, critical-thinking abilities and teamwork.
- Strong research skills, including conducting research activities, writing proposals, reports, and academic papers; managing research budgets; and preparing bids for departmental research funding.
- Ability to build and maintain professional networks and strong connections within the luxury industry (fashion or design).
Required Skills
- Excellent drawing and illustration skills (both hand-drawn and digital).
- Excellent technical skills in pattern cutting, draping, and garment construction.
- Excellent software proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), CLO3D, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of the fashion design process, from concept research to final collection development, including portfolio building and presentation.
- Knowledge of materials, textiles, and sustainable practices, and understanding of luxury fashion standards, craftsmanship, and production processes.
- Commitment to creative innovation, professionalism, and academic excellence.
