The purpose of this part-time role is to contribute to the academic excellence of Istituto Marangoni Dubai by delivering high-quality teaching in the area of Visual Merchandising, with a specific focus on the fashion and luxury industries. The successful candidate will bring strong professional and academic expertise in spatial storytelling, retail experience design, window displays and brand-led visual strategies. You will guide students in translating brand identity into impactful physical and experiential retail environments, from concept development to execution, in alignment with CAA educational standards and Istituto Marangoni's academic vision.

In addition to classroom teaching, the tutor will contribute to course preparation, curriculum enhancement, and collaborative academic initiatives that strengthen students' creative, strategic, and industry-ready competencies.

The tutor will teach and mentor students within the Visual Merchandising pathway, supporting curriculum delivery, development, and academic activities related to retail design, brand storytelling, window displays and consumer engagement across physical and hybrid retail environments.

Teaching Activities

The tutor will deliver structured and engaging subject content in alignment with CAA standards and Istituto Marangoni's methodological guidelines. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Course File documentation, preparing industry-relevant teaching materials, and facilitating practical workshops and critiques. The role also involves contributing to School-wide academic initiatives and events, maintaining accurate student records, and working closely with the Director of Education and Programme Leader to ensure academic coherence and quality assurance.

Students' Academic Support

The tutor will support students in developing strong visual merchandising concepts, rigorous research methodologies, and professionally relevant portfolios. This includes providing constructive and timely feedback across formative and summative assessment stages, while encouraging critical thinking, experimentation, and commercial awareness through hands‐on projects and studio‐based learning. The tutor will foster interdisciplinary collaboration and contribute to an inclusive and supportive academic environment, offering academic and pastoral guidance and addressing student concerns with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.

Industry Project

Initiate and foster engagement with relevant fashion, luxury, and retail industry partners, organizations, and professional bodies. Support the development of industry‐led projects, live briefs and collaborative opportunities that enhance students' real‐world exposure and employability.

Educational and Professional Requirements
  • MA Degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Communication, Retail Design or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at university level, preferably within an international academic environment.
  • Proven professional experience in Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, or Luxury Brand environments.
  • Equivalency certificate for educational qualifications from the UAE Ministry of Education (or willingness to obtain).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative teaching content and assessment methodologies.
  • Experience working with diverse student cohorts and commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • UAE residency preferred.
  • Strong industry network and the ability to bridge academic learning with professional practice.
