Istituto Marangoni is seeking multi-disciplinary freelance Tutors/Lecturers and Creative Practitioners to teach professional online courses within the Fashion Communication and Image area. The role focuses on contemporary image-making and visual culture, preparing students to navigate the evolving landscape of fashion media, storytelling, and visual communication. The successful candidate will contribute to an innovative learning environment that encourages experimentation, critical thinking, and creative vision across fashion, media, and emerging technologies.
Key Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality teaching and academic guidance in contemporary image-making practices, supporting students in understanding how visual content is conceived, produced, distributed, and consumed across multiple platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering interactive lectures, workshops, and group critiques
- Guiding students through concept development, narrative construction, and visual storytelling
- Teaching platform-specific image production for editorial, advertising, film, and digital media
- Supporting students in developing professional creative projects and portfolios
- Exploring contemporary practices including photography, moving image, fashion film, styling, animation, and digital content creation
- Integrating emerging technologies such as AI-assisted creative tools into teaching methodologies
- Addressing topics of authorship, ethics, sustainability, and cultural impact within visual media
- Encouraging critical awareness of global fashion communication and visual culture trends
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Proven professional experience in image-making, fashion communication, or visual media
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Photography, Moving image / film, Styling, Art direction, Visual storytelling
- Familiarity with editorial, advertising, digital platforms, and contemporary content ecosystems
- Knowledge of fashion film, animation, stop motion, or motion graphics
- Experience using AI-assisted creative tools and modern production workflows
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant industry and/or academic experience
- Fluency in English (minimum B2 level)
- Updated professional portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking and visual execution
- Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills
- Active professional practice within the creative industries
