Istituto Marangoni Dubai is seeking experienced and innovative freelance Lecturers, and Creative Practitioners to contribute to its Fashion Design programmes. The role is suited to industry professionals and educators who bring strong creative expertise, contemporary fashion knowledge, and a passion for teaching within a higher education environment. Successful candidates will support students’ creative development through research-led design practice, integrating conceptual thinking, technical execution, and industry-relevant methodologies.
Key Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality teaching and academic support across Fashion Design disciplines, fostering creativity, experimentation, and professional readiness among students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering interactive lectures, workshops, tutorials, and design critiques.
- Guiding students through research-led fashion design development (2D and 3D), from concept creation to final execution.
- Supporting learning across one or more specialist areas, including:
- Fashion Design
- Fashion Illustration
- Pattern Cutting
- CLO3D and Digital Fashion Tools
- Materials and Textiles
- Fashion Accessories
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related creative discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Teaching qualification or postgraduate education is advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum 5–10 years of relevant industry and/or academic experience.
- Proven professional background in fashion design, concept development, or multidisciplinary creative practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in research, illustration, pattern cutting, garment construction, and making.
- Experience using digital fashion platforms and AI-assisted creative tools, including CLO3D.
- University-level teaching experience is desirable; however, strong industry professionals with mentoring or training experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of contemporary fashion practice.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students in a higher education environment.
- Fluent English proficiency (minimum B2 level).
- Updated professional portfolio demonstrating conceptual strength, technical skill, and design excellence.
- Active professional practice within the fashion or creative industries.
