The Academic Support Specialist works closely with the Programme Leader for Fashion Styling courses to support the administration of the programme and the organisation of academic activities. The role includes supervising the progress of the programme, its performance, efficiency, and student satisfaction, while coordinating academic activities related to the course and tutors.
Key purpose of the role:
- Ensure the management of the admin programme by supporting the check of monthly lessons and activities delivered by tutors.
- Support the organisation of the programme.
- Support the functions and processes associated with the delivery, monitoring, and assessment of academic programmes to the required quality standard.
- Liaise effectively with staff regarding the coordination and management of academic timetables and the availability of teaching space.
- Assist in providing timely and accurate management information as required by the Programme Leader.
- Maintain an accurate record system of all documents related to the programme.
- Support pedagogic activity.
- Liaise with tutors as needed.
- Attend meetings, orientations, and open days as required.
- Complete any other tasks assigned as appropriate to the role.
Education and skills:
- Bachelor or Master Degree.
- Previous experience working in a similar or administrative support position.
- Experience in creative and media environments would be beneficial.
- Experience of dealing sensitively with a range of enquiries and needs.
- Customer service skills.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of the English language, written and spoken.
- Knowledge of the UK Higher Education system.
- Knowledge of Fashion Styling as a discipline or a strong interest in it.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
- Knowledge of the MAC system is highly beneficial.
