At the heart of this mission, ISTARI helps clients achieve lasting organisational cyber resilience by convening and applying world‑class talent, expertise, and innovation through a uniquely powerful network - with ISTARI as the central orchestrator.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Manager in ISTARI's Advisory practice, you are at the heart of our client mission, responsible for delivering key components of our most complex cybersecurity engagements. You will be a cornerstone of our project teams, managing timelines, coordinating across multiple stakeholders, and ensuring that all deliverables meet our standards of excellence. This role is a critical part of our delivery engine, offering a unique opportunity to work on large‑scale advisory projects while honing your expertise in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment. You will be instrumental in managing programmes, resolving delivery issues, and ensuring our clients are delighted with the outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Delivery & Execution: Deliver key components of cybersecurity advisory engagements, managing defined workstreams end‑to‑end and ensuring deliverables meet client requirements. Manage programmes to define objectives, scope, timelines, and budgets across multiple concurrent client engagements. Produce clear status reports and proactively identify and escalate delivery risks, dependencies, or potential delays. Translate cyber, risk, and technical inputs into high‑quality, client‑ready materials. Navigate ambiguity and support delivery through organisational change or operating model shifts.
- Business Development: Supports Directors, Principals and Partners in creating proposals, solutions, and client‑facing materials, bringing delivery realism and execution insight.
- Practice & People Development: Contributes to internal delivery materials and delivery playbooks, and fosters a collaborative, accountable delivery culture.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: ~5–7+ years of experience in cybersecurity consulting or advisory, including 2–3 years of hands‑on delivery experience (not oversight‑only roles). Proven experience managing multiple client engagements simultaneously, with exposure across different industries, ideally including regulated environments. Strong project or programme management capability, with clear accountability for outcomes and delivery quality.
- Expertise: Direct cyber delivery expertise is essential. You are a resilient, self‑starter who is comfortable operating in ambiguity and brings depth in at least one technical or solution domain, alongside the ability to apply judgement in advisory contexts.
- Programme Management: Extensive experience delivering cyber engagements and managing large, complex programmes, with responsibility for scope, dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.
- Specialised Knowledge: Demonstrable experience in two or more cybersecurity domains, such as securing critical infrastructure, crisis readiness, third‑party or supply‑chain risk management, cloud architecture, or cyber risk quantification.
- Key Skills: Client‑focused and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work credibly with senior stakeholders, including CISOs and CIOs, and effectively engage both technical and non‑technical audiences.
How We Measure Success
- Consistently delivering client engagements that meet agreed objectives, timelines, and budgets, while achieving high levels of client satisfaction.
- Effectively managing programme stakeholders across ISTARI, clients, and portfolio companies, ensuring clear alignment, communication, and issue resolution.
- Maintaining high standards of quality assurance, producing clear, high‑calibre, client‑ready materials (e.g. presentations, reports, recommendations) that enable confident decision‑making.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: A competitive base salary, benchmarked against industry practice in our hub locations.
- Annual Performance‑Related Bonus: An on‑target annual bonus, linked to individual performance and contribution.
- Benefits: A comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including medical and dental cover, pension contributions, and life insurance.
