We are seeking a Fabric Engineer with an FM background to deliver high‑quality fabric and building services maintenance across the site. This role focuses on completing planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set timeframes, ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded. You will work closely with contractors and clients, ensuring standards, compliance and contractual requirements are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fabric‑related PPM and reactive maintenance works within agreed timescales.
- Undertake building services maintenance including exterior works, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry tasks.
- Complete external grounds maintenance duties as required.
- Control and monitor contractors on behalf of the client, including issuing permits to work and ensuring workmanship meets required standards.
- Ensure all equipment operates to specified performance criteria and surrounding areas meet agreed company standards.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all administrative requirements on time.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH.
- Take a proactive approach to client liaison, addressing concerns or escalating to management where necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a facilities management (FM) environment.
- Willingness to complete both PPM and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple trades.
- NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Plumbing.
- NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with plumbing qualifications.
