We are looking for a safety-focused professional with proven experience in managing construction activities within live environments, ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation. The role involves frequent site visits, audits and unsociable or out-of-hours working, with a strong emphasis on site safety, workforce supervision and effective stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site safety across multiple locations, ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, implement control measures and monitor site activities to prevent unsafe practices.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings to operatives and subcontractors.
- Interpret schematic and construction drawings, with particular focus on fire and security requirements (Safe 03 and Safe 04 criteria).
- Supervise, mentor and coordinate operatives and subcontractors to ensure safe and compliant delivery of works.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety checks across the project portfolio.
- Report accidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Maintain all required health and safety documentation and site records in line with regulatory and client requirements.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- SSSTS or SMSTS certified.
- CSCS card.
- Experience delivering cross-functional projects within the FM / Project Management environment.
- Conversant with NEC4 contracts and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of construction processes with the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Educated to degree level or holding relevant professional accreditation (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner).
- Strong data analysis, reporting, presentation and documentation skills, with advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to build credibility with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationwide as required.
