We are looking for someone who will support the Catering Manager in the delivery of services and events through strong operational control, innovation and people development, while maintaining excellent standards of health, safety, food hygiene and budget management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the FOH department, including preparation and presentation of food service areas.
- Ensure all purchases are completed via nominated suppliers and remain within the agreed budget.
- Support menu planning, ordering, stock control and food wastage management using contract tools/software.
- Lead, supervise and motivate Food Service Supervisors, Assistants and agency staff to deliver a professional service.
- Maintain and monitor standards set by the Catering Manager, leading by example at all times.
- Drive compliance with Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and company policies.
- Achieve internal Food Safety Audit scores of 95%+ and maintain a 5-star EHO rating.
- Ensure absence levels are managed in line with contract targets and high standards of appearance and personal hygiene are upheld.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Proven experience within food service, catering and/or the hospitality industry.
- Experience of supervising and developing teams.
- Good understanding of budget management and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety requirements.
- Industry awareness, including external catering developments and innovation.
- A proactive approach to maintaining and improving service and presentation standards.
- Takes initiative for personal development and shares knowledge with the team.
- Flexible and effective communicator.
