We are looking for an experienced privacy specialist who can translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for operational teams, embedding robust privacy practices into FM operations, building technologies, workforce systems and supplier relationships. Acting as a trusted adviser, the postholder will support operational leaders and clients to manage privacy risks effectively across multi-site portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data protection compliance across the UK business in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Develop and maintain the privacy governance framework, including policies, RoPA and supporting guidance.
  • Provide practical privacy advice to operational teams across multi-site FM environments.
  • Manage privacy risks, including DPIAs, supplier assessments and internal audits.
  • Oversee data breaches and DSARs, ensuring compliant investigation, documentation and response.
  • Embed privacy by design into systems, technologies and new commercial contracts.
  • Deliver privacy training and awareness programmes across the organisation.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to operational leaders and clients, ensuring privacy risks are well managed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable and proactive Privacy Manager with strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and ICO guidance.
  • Experience managing DPIAs, DSARs, data breaches and privacy risk assessments.
  • Ability to translate complex regulations into practical guidance for operational teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across technical and non-technical groups.
  • Experience working with data protection governance frameworks, policies and RoPA.
  • Understanding of data risks in operational FM environments (e.g., CCTV, access control, workforce systems).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with IT, legal, operations, procurement and other functions.
