As the Payroll Delivery Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in monitoring all input and control activities, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing best practices to optimise payroll processes.
Key responsibilities will include supervising the payroll team, ensuring compliance with payroll policies and regulations, resolving payroll-related issues, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to address payroll inquiries and provide expert advice on payroll matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a team of Payroll Coordinators, maintaining strong working relationships with the wider operational team responsible for the time and attendance input.
- Maintain a strong, high-performing team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, performance management, and resource planning.
- Responsible for more complex administration tasks, such as advances, loan deductions, and TUPE loads.
- Complete second-level output control checks of the salaried monthly payroll in line with the control framework.
- Help to manage the third-party payroll provider SDWorx to ensure the payroll is processed in line with contractual SLAs and KPIs.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience of working with a salaried monthly payroll
- Experience of managing internal and external stakeholders
- Proficient in relevant IT platforms
- Experience of working with both in-house and outsourced payroll environments
- Solid UK legislation knowledge
- Strong understanding of GDPR and data privacy requirements
