We are looking for a technician to provide air conditioning, refrigeration and building maintenance services, including fault finding, repairs, planned maintenance and installations. The role is responsible for completing proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within agreed timeframes, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver AC, electrical and HVAC bias PPM, proactive and reactive maintenance works within set SLA timeframes
  • Inspect, repair and modify air conditioning compressors, chillers, electrical components and control systems
  • Carry out regular preventative maintenance inspections and complete required adjustments or repairs
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant, including basic electrical fault finding
  • Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, controls, valves, filters and heat exchangers
  • Undertake installation, calibration and commissioning of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including pipework and insulation
  • Perform skilled electrical maintenance works, including installation and alteration of motors, wiring systems and control panels
  • Participate in the call-out rota and support additional building services maintenance activities as required

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • HVAC City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in one of the following:
    • Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems
    • Heating and Ventilation
    • Heating and Ventilation Service & Maintenance
  • Electrical Level 3 Electrical Qualification, including one of the following:
    • City & Guilds 2365 or 2357 Level 3 with NVQ 2356 and AM2
    • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 in Electrical Installation with NVQ 2356 and AM2
    • City & Guilds 236 / 2360 in Electrical Installations Parts 1 & 2
    • BTEC Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    • City & Guilds 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations

Experience Required

  • Proven experience delivering air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC building services maintenance
  • Experience of reactive and PPM maintenance within commercial properties
  • Background working within facilities management or building services environments

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence
