You will be responsible for maintaining complex plumbing installations within a facilities or commercial environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, health and safety procedures, and company policies, while delivering a high standard of service and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and fault finding on plumbing systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot systems, identifying faults and carrying out repairs or part replacements as required.
  • Install, modify, and repair plumbing systems, including routing pipework, installing components, and ensuring correct system operation.
  • Maintain complex systems including water, drainage, sprinkler systems, air compressors, hydraulic lifts, washers, and steam cleaning devices.
  • Conduct leak detection, soldering, brazing, and fitting of piping, joints, and associated equipment.
  • Interpret building plans, blueprints, and sketches to plan and complete installations and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, including risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Complete all required documentation, monitor contractor performance where applicable, and ensure service levels are met or exceeded.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mechanical building services maintenance, including installation, inspection, testing, and fault finding.
  • Strong background in reactive and planned maintenance within FM or commercial building services environments.
  • Experience working under strict health & safety procedures.
  • Evidence of training and competence in high-risk mechanical works.
  • Ability to assess situations, identify solutions, and deliver effective outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills and organisational awareness.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and adapt to urgent requirements.
