We are looking for an individual who will support the Financial Accountant in improving processes and procedures, driving efficiencies in cost management, and ensuring financial responsibilities across customer contracts are fulfilled accurately and on time. The role is integral to the delivery of key financial transactional processes within a robust internal controls framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work within a robust internal financial controls framework, completing Controls Self-Assessments and ensuring procedures are adhered to.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations in compliance with UK&I reconciliation requirements.
  • Support external audit, Group and UK&I internal audits, and Financial Controls & Assurance reviews.
  • Support the Financial Accountant in the Month-End Close cycle for allocated accounts.
  • Prepare, calculate, review and process accruals, prepayments and revenue-related transactions across customer contracts.
  • Run and review weekly open purchase order reports, keeping aged purchase orders to a minimum.
  • Perform balance sheet control activities, including prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, contract receivables and provisions.
  • Carry out income statement control activities, including analytical reviews, customer profitability analysis, payroll review and overhead management.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Studying towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), or a desire to pursue a professional qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team player.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement.
  • Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong business insight.
  • Intermediate Excel skills essential; knowledge of Navision and/or OneStream is an advantage.
