We are seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead and manage a school catering operation. Your primary focus will be delivering high-quality food for students while ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen. You will have overall responsibility for the school catering operation, setting and maintaining standards, managing budgets and targets, and leading a motivated and customer-focused team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee the production of delicious, high-quality food in line with menus, recipes, and standards.
- Ensure full understanding and compliance with allergen management and dietary requirements.
- Deliver outstanding catering services both in and outside the kitchen environment.
- Ensure timely meal service, meeting deadlines and maintaining smooth daily operations.
- Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, ensuring all kitchen and service areas are clean, safe, and well organised.
- Uphold all health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Work collaboratively as part of the wider ISS team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Manage, motivate, and develop a team of catering staff to consistently deliver a high-quality service.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery (or working towards) or equivalent catering qualification.
- Passion for great-tasting food with strong knowledge of school catering environments.
- Excellent food preparation and cooking skills with a focus on quality and consistency.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene standards and allergen management principles.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
