Duty Operations Manager - HCC in Kent

As the Duty Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of cleaning and housekeeping operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and national healthcare cleanliness standards. You will act as a senior operational lead for cleaning services, working closely with stakeholders to ensure a safe, hygienic and well-maintained environment for patients, staff and visitors. The role also involves strong team leadership, audit readiness, and driving continuous improvement across all service areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality delivery of cleaning services in line with the 2021 National Cleaning Standards and PLACE requirements.
• Maintain excellent audit readiness through accurate documentation, quality checks and corrective actions.
• Lead, motivate and develop cleaning teams, ensuring effective rota management, training and performance reviews.
• Promote a culture of health, safety and infection prevention, ensuring compliance with HSE, COSHH and safe systems of work.
• Manage performance against KPIs and SLAs, supporting effective resource use and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Use audit outcomes and feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across operations.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

• Proven experience managing cleaning or housekeeping operations in a regulated environment.
• Understanding of the 2021 National Cleaning Standards and experience leading PLACE preparation.
• Demonstrated leadership of large, diverse teams.
• Knowledge of COSHH, HSE and infection control requirements.
• Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
