We are seeking a Shift Leader to oversee the monitoring and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical (M&E) assets within the Gloucester data centre. The role ensures the site, ISS requirements and statutory regulations are consistently met, while maintaining equipment to a high standard to support full operational uptime. We are looking for a professional who can lead a team of engineers across the shift, coordinate planned and reactive tasks, and maintain effective control of contractors, administration and compliance documentation. This role is critical to ensuring maximum resilience of power and cooling infrastructure across the data centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of three engineers to deliver all shift duties and operational requirements
- Allocate work across the shift and coordinate priorities with the Deputy Shift Lead
- Complete PPMs and reactive maintenance to required standards
- Monitor, maintain and fault-diagnose M&E assets to maximise operational reliability
- Oversee subcontractor activity and project works on site
- Manage Help Desk requests and ensure prompt, effective responses
- Ensure all works follow approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments and site safety rules
- Maintain accurate records in line with ISO 9001:2000 and use the CAFM system for all tasks
Multi-skilled engineer with mechanical and/or electrical background. Electrical qualifications to current standards (18th Edition preferred). Proven leadership experience, or demonstrable ambition to step into leadership. Ability to manage workload, coordinate shift activity and work effectively with contractors.
