The predicted salary is between 70000 - 75000 £ per year.

This role consolidates activity previously spread across multiple finance roles and operates with a high degree of autonomy. The focus is firmly on value-adding insight and decision support rather than duplicated, transactional or low-value finance activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full accountability for timely and accurate month end close, ensuring strong financial control and reporting integrity.
  • Own month end reporting, including P&L variance analysis, balance sheet review (including GRNI and purchase order accruals), working capital, KPI and run-rate analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with ISS accounting policies and data integrity standards at all times.
  • Lead monthly operational finance reviews, presenting financial performance in a clear, accessible way and translating data into insight that drives corrective action, cost control and margin improvement.
  • Act as the primary finance point of contact, providing a consistent and credible finance voice across the business.
  • Prepare and present internal ISS Business Unit Reviews (BURs), including performance commentary, risks and opportunities, and clear ownership of actions.
  • Own payroll, labour and cost analysis, challenging variances to expected run rate and partnering with Operations to resolve discrepancies and control spend.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activity, including ownership of OneStream planning, purchase order governance, accrual accuracy and commercial support for contract changes or initiatives.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Proven experience owning financial performance within a complex contract or business unit.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to operate within tight margins.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge senior operational stakeholders.
  • Strong month end, forecasting and financial control capability.
  • Ability to operate independently within a lean finance model.
  • Commercially pragmatic, outcome focused and resilient.
  • Strong judgement, prioritisation skills and confidence in a cost-constrained environment.
