The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
This role requires someone confident in diagnosing and repairing AC systems - including compressors, controls, and refrigeration components - with the ability to provide first-line support for electrical and switchgear issues. You will also support contractor management, maintain safe working environments, and play an active part in out-of-hours and occasional night-time maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver PPM, reactive, and proactive maintenance across AC, HVAC, and basic electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with all H&S and statutory obligations, including Risk Assessments, F-Gas, LV Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain AC/HVAC systems, including compressors, chillers, controls, motors, and associated equipment.
- Carry out first-line electrical maintenance and support on switchgear when required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours callout rota (minimum 1 in 4) and occasional planned night work.
- Manage and monitor contractors, including issuing Permits to Work and ensuring standards are met.
- Ensure all equipment operates effectively, safely, and to required performance standards.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Proven experience working on Air Conditioning systems, including pressure leak testing and compressor replacement.
- City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants (or CITB J11 equivalent).
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems.
- Strong understanding of AC fundamentals and HVAC components.
- Confident in delivering first-line electrical work and resolving basic LV faults.
