This role will focus on identifying opportunities, building strong client relationships, and leading end-to-end work‑winning activities for our projects business. Working closely with our Managing Director – Projects and the wider leadership team, you will help shape and deliver an ambitious growth plan, initially maximising opportunities within our existing client base and, over time, expanding through frameworks and selected new clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the business development strategy for projects in alignment with senior leadership.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities across key target markets, including commercial office, financial services, healthcare, government, and production.
- Engage with clients to build brand awareness of ISS project capabilities and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, consultants, and suppliers.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of project opportunities, track KPIs, and report performance to senior leadership.
- Act as the primary point of contact for new and existing clients throughout the acquisition phase.
- Provide bid leadership on project‑related tenders and frameworks, coordinating pre‑construction activities with internal teams.
- Collaborate with the Projects leadership team to align growth with delivery capacity and capability.
- Attend industry events and monitor market trends, client requirements, and competitor activity to inform strategy.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Significant experience in business development and project delivery within the construction or FM sectors.
- Proven track record of securing refurbishment and construction contracts through various routes.
- Strong knowledge of UK construction industry frameworks, procurement routes, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with NEC and JCT contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret market trends.
- UK driving licence required, with flexibility to travel as needed.
