We are seeking an Engineering Manager - Operations to lead the delivery of asset management activities in line with contractual requirements, ensuring the effective management of asset registers, CAFM system data, maintenance plans, and compliance programmes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing asset management service offerings, driving operational excellence, and supporting the ongoing development of the site and engineering function., We are looking for a highly capable engineering leader with strong mechanical and electrical facilities management experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to oversee large engineering teams.

This role requires ownership of compliance, asset performance, maintenance strategies, and data-driven improvement initiatives, including the meaningful application of Io T data to deliver commercial efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead asset management activities, including asset registers, CAFM data, and maintenance planning.
  • Ensure maintenance regimes comply with manufacturer guidance and SFG20 standards.
  • Manage statutory compliance programmes, records, and timely closure of defects.
  • Lead compliance audits and produce KPI, risk, and performance reporting.
  • Develop and optimise PPM strategies based on asset criticality and performance.
  • Maintain accurate asset lifecycle data and ensure CAFM records remain current and compliant.
  • Manage and support a team of around 30 engineers across multiple disciplines and shift patterns.
  • Oversee RAMS, engineering procedures, safe systems of work, and HSEQ compliance to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering within a facilities management environment.

Qualifications

  • Ideally experienced within a retail FM environment.
  • Previous experience managing multi-skilled engineering teams across different trades and shift patterns.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles and statutory compliance frameworks.
  • Proven experience using CAFM systems and managing engineering data governance.
  • Excel and Power BI skills for reporting, dashboard creation, and audit evidence management.
  • Working knowledge of SFG20, OEM guidance, and UK technical compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience leading compliance audits, PPM optimisation programmes, and stakeholder engagement across large-scale accounts.
  • Resilient, hardworking, and capable of operating effectively within a complex operational environment.
