We are looking for an experienced data professional who is ready to step further into an architecture role, working closely with Business Intelligence teams, Data Developers and Integration teams. The role will contribute to architecture design decisions, standards and delivery, collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the definition and evolution of ISS UK’s data architecture, aligned to Group standards and UK business priorities.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of a hub-and-spoke data architecture alongside senior architects and engineering teams.
- Produce and maintain logical and physical data architecture artefacts, including diagrams, data flows and design documentation.
- Review data solution designs and provide guidance to ensure consistency, scalability and maintainability.
- Work closely with BI developers and Data Engineers to ensure architectural designs are practical and effectively implemented.
- Support the use of Microsoft SQL Server, Azure data services and Azure Databricks within agreed architectural patterns.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT and business functions to understand data requirements and translate these into clear data designs.
- Support the application of data governance, security and access control principles, ensuring alignment with ISS standards.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Experience in a data-focused role such as Data Architect, Senior Data Developer, BI Architect or similar.
- Practical experience with the Microsoft data stack, including SQL Server, Azure data services and Azure Databricks (or equivalent Spark-based platforms).
- Experience working closely with BI and data engineering teams in delivery-focused environments.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and data architecture diagrams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at varying levels of technical understanding.
