We are seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the successful commercial delivery of a large Facilities Management (FM) contract within the public sector, operating as part of the Government Commercial function at ISS. The role is accountable for protecting and enhancing commercial value across the full contract lifecycle, ensuring contractual compliance, robust governance and sustainable margin delivery. Working closely with operational, finance and wider commercial teams, the Commercial Manager will provide expert commercial leadership, insight and challenge. The role will translate commercial strategies into practical operational outcomes, support effective financial forecasting, and proactively manage commercial risks and opportunities while maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage contract variations, pricing activities, negotiations and commercial recovery actions.
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact for the client on contractual matters and dispute resolution.
- Drive margin improvement, cost control and overall commercial performance of the contract.
- Manage commercial risk, governance, compliance and contractual obligations throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Translate commercial strategy into practical delivery outcomes for operational teams.
- Oversee work‑in‑progress (WIP), forecasting and financial performance in partnership with Finance teams.
- Provide commercial insight, challenge and support to operational and senior stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders across operations, finance and supply chain.
Requirements
- Strong commercial management experience within Facilities Management, covering hard and soft services.
- Knowledge of Government and public sector contracts, including CCS and NEC frameworks.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience managing margin, cost and risk.
- Proven experience managing contract variations, pricing models and performance mechanisms.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management and client‑facing capabilities.
- Ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities and translate them into operational solutions.
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset with the ability to influence at senior level.
