Overview
We are seeking an experienced UK Environmental Manager to lead and manage environmental and energy initiatives across UK operations, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards. This is a site‑based role, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel and opportunities for progression to a global position.
The role is pivotal in driving sustainability, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting the achievement of environmental and energy targets. It will serve as the primary Energy Manager, working closely with engineering teams and key stakeholders to optimise building systems and reduce environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the UK Environmental Manager, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
- Manage UK EMS/EnMS systems, supporting operational tasks and assisting the London Energy Manager.
- Collect, consolidate, and accurately report environmental data (energy, waste, water, paper) via Enablon.
- Oversee risk register management and ensure timely closure of audit findings with full evidence.
- Maintain legal compliance by reviewing registers, monitoring waste legislation, and implementing regulatory changes.
- Prepare and support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Update and manage EMS/EnMS documentation, including manuals, action plans, and training matrices.
- Drive communication and engagement initiatives, proposing energy‑saving and environmental‑impact reduction measures.
- Deliver training and maintain competence across teams, ensuring compliance with standards and legislation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support sustainability objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong technical awareness and ability to interrogate HVAC and BMS systems.
- Proven experience as an Energy Manager with a solid understanding of environmental management.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 compliance requirements.
- Excellent data management and reporting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and stakeholders.
- IEMA certification and/or technical/engineering background preferred.
- Flexible approach with aspirations for progression to a global role.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
