We are seeking an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineer to provide air conditioning, refrigeration, and associated building maintenance services across designated client properties. The role involves delivering high‑quality fault finding, repairs, maintenance, and installation works on client sites, ensuring systems operate safely and effectively. A technically competent engineer with a strong HVAC and refrigeration background is required to manage proactive planned maintenance and reactive works within agreed timeframes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver AC, refrigeration and HVAC‑biased PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set timeframes.
  • Inspect, repair, modify and install refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including compressors, chillers and system controls.
  • Carry out regular preventive maintenance inspections and undertake necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant, including basic electrical fault finding.
  • Repair, replace or rebuild defective components such as compressors, motors, controls, valves, filters and heat exchangers.
  • Undertake installation, calibration and testing of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including pipework and insulation.
  • Provide call‑out response as part of the agreed rota and support new installations and repair works.
  • Carry out contractor control duties, including monitoring workmanship and issuing Permits to Work.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems, or NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating and Ventilation, or NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Heating and Ventilation Service & Maintenance.
  • IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proven experience in air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC building services maintenance.
  • Previous experience delivering reactive and planned preventive maintenance.
  • Experience working within FM or building services environments in commercial properties.
  • Commitment to a customer‑focused approach, ensuring service delivery consistently meets and exceeds client expectations.
