Relief Security Officer Contract: Infrastructure Location: Peterborough, PE2 8YY
Hours of work: 42 Working Pattern: Rotational day shifts (07:00-19:00), night shifts (19:00-07:00) and weekends
Contract Type: Permanent Hourly Rate: £14.50
We are seeking a reliable and vigilant Security Relief Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security provision, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our client’s sites, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and assets. Relief Security Officers are sought to strengthen existing teams, and will be called on for core and adhoc activities. This will include advanced notification of shifts, filling vacancies in the security team rota, supporting cover for sickness and holidays, as well other additional tasking. The successful candidate will be reliable, flexible and a personable security professional.
The Role
- Responsible for the physical security of client premises
- Conduct regular patrols
- Respond promptly to alarms and incidents, taking appropriate action
- Enforce access control and verify the identity of individuals on-site
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting and guiding visitors
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of security-related activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Ensure high standards at all times, maintaining the professional image of ISS
- Undertake induction and training as needed
- Promote a secure and safe working environment at client sites
About You
- Valid SIA licence
- Proven experience in security or related field
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of security protocols and procedures
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights and weekends
New recruits will be encouraged to enrol onto the relevant apprenticeship as part of their training and development.
