You will be responsible for overseeing the effective day-to-day operation of the BOH and patient feeding services, ensuring that all activities are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Your role is vital in providing a high-quality catering service to patients, staff, and visitors, maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment in line with contractual specifications.
You will be responsive to service demands as they arise and continually seek opportunities to enhance both productivity and service quality.
Working closely with other service managers, you will actively participate in menu development and merchandising initiatives to maximise sales and align with the Company’s ‘Cutting Edge’ marketing manual. All responsibilities must be carried out in strict accordance with health, safety, security, infection control, and Trust policies and procedures.
It is important to note that this role may require you to work in sensitive environments, requiring professionalism and discretion at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage staffing levels and competence across the entire food service operation.
- Maintain accurate records for costings, sickness, quality monitoring, training, and staff performance.
- Lead regular team meetings and conduct performance reviews, return-to-work discussions, and investigations as needed.
- Supervise, train, motivate, and ensure the welfare, discipline, and safety of staff under your control.
- Plan and organise catering services, ensuring adherence to work schedules, quality standards, and menu cycles.
- Oversee ordering, stock control, and issuance of food, equipment, uniforms, and materials.
- Deliver job-related training to meet the needs of new and existing staff in line with the Training Plan.
- Ensure high-quality, safe food production and service that meets dietary requirements and service level agreements.
- Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and professionalism at all times in accordance with company, Trust policies, and legislation.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Previous catering experience is essential.
- Basic Food Hygiene training will be provided and must be completed to undertake this role.
- Occupational Health clearance is mandatory for this position.
