This is a high-impact, specialist role where you’ll lead on ensuring asset data is structured, governed, and aligned to industry frameworks (ISO, BIM, Golden Thread) - enabling compliance, audit readiness, and long-term asset lifecycle management. You’ll act as the subject matter expert for classification and taxonomy, working across engineering, FM, digital and compliance teams to embed best practice and drive data integrity at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and govern asset classification standards and taxonomy across CAFM, CMMS and BIM environments
  • Ensure alignment to ISO 55001, ISO 19650, Uniclass 2015 and Golden Thread principles
  • Lead classification change control, ensuring all updates are risk-assessed, approved, and fully auditable
  • Drive data consistency across systems, ensuring interoperability between asset registers, surveys and digital models
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues, including duplication, misclassification, and structural inconsistencies
  • Develop and maintain data standards, templates, dictionaries, and validation rules
  • Support audit, compliance, and assurance activities, ensuring asset data is always audit-ready
  • Provide insight and reporting on data quality, risks, and performance
  • Act as a technical authority, guiding stakeholders on classification standards and best practice

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Strong experience in asset data, BIM, or information management environments
  • Deep knowledge of classification systems (e.g. Uniclass 2015)
  • Proven expertise in data governance frameworks (ISO 55001, ISO 19650, Golden Thread)
  • Experience working across CAFM, CMMS, EAM or BIM platforms
  • Ability to manage and improve complex, structured datasets
  • Strong stakeholder engagement - able to influence across technical and operational teams
  • Analytical, methodical, and highly detail-driven mindset
