Overview

As a Junior Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring consistent food quality, strong team performance, and full compliance with food safety standards.

It’s a role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, leading by example, and inspiring a team to deliver outstanding hospitality in a dynamic and rewarding setting.

The Role

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef with daily kitchen operations and service delivery.
• Coordinate kitchen sections and support smooth service execution.
• Supervise and coach Chef de Parties, Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and portion control standards.
• Support stock management, ordering, rotation and waste reduction initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, allergen and health & safety requirements.
• Assist with hospitality events, executive dining and special functions.
• Lead service in the absence of the Sous Chef when required.

About You

• NVQ Level 2/3 Professional Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership potential and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Customer focused, proactive and flexible approach.
• Exceptional food quality and presentation.
• Strong food safety compliance.
• Effective support of Head Chef and Sous Chef.
