Main Purpose of the Position:
The Global Asset Management Director will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of global asset management and reliability strategies across the organisation’s international portfolio. This role is responsible for driving asset reliability, resilience, lifecycle optimisation, and maintenance assurance through the application of data-driven, risk-based, and reliability-centred methodologies. The position will focus on reducing reactive maintenance, preventing critical asset failures, improving operational performance, and maximising long-term client investment value.
In addition to overseeing asset management deployment and maintenance optimisation programmes, the role will lead the development of new strategic reliability and asset management products, frameworks, and service offerings that enhance technical capability, operational intelligence, and client value proposition across mission critical and corporate environments. The Global Asset Management Director will establish systematic, scalable, and increasingly automated processes that support corporate technical services, asset lifecycle governance, predictive maintenance strategies, engineering assurance, and compliance to maintenance standards and plans.
This position requires extensive expertise in asset management, reliability engineering, data analytics, digital enablement, and strategic leadership to deliver innovative, future-focused asset management solutions aligned to organisational objectives and evolving client requirements.
What You’ll Do:
- Policy Development and Implementation: Deliver consistent global asset management policies to ensure standardized operations, compliance, and enhanced asset reliability across the account considering ISO standards such as ISO55001, 19650, 15686 and other best practice industry standards.
- Asset Management Deployment: Oversee the build, development, and management of Capital Investment Plans (CIP) to support asset lifecycle management and prioritise reliability improvements.
- Asset Database Management: Maintain and enhance a comprehensive asset database, including statutory certifications, procedures, and additional asset categories such as fabric, catering, and vertical transportation, to support failure prevention and reliability tracking.
- Cost Modelling and Failure Prevention: Develop detailed cost models to provide accurate insights into site-level asset costs, identifying patterns in data to reduce reactive maintenance, minimise downtime, and lower operational costs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Leverage advanced data analytics and reliability engineering techniques to deliver improved asset performance through predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, assurance of asset and contractual compliance, and optimised client investment by reducing reactive works and enhancing asset longevity.
- Process Optimization: Implement consistent, systematized, and automated work instruction processes using tools like Field Flex to streamline operations and support proactive maintenance planning.
- Asset Management Planning: Develop site-specific Asset Management Plans, incorporating enhanced maintenance levels for End-of-Life (EOL) assets and reliability-focused strategies to prevent failures.
- Strategic Development: Build and execute an Asset Management Strategy to deliver optimal, reliability-centred maintenance programmes at both site and account levels, emphasising failure mode identification and mitigation.
- Budget Support: Collaborate on budget development for Technical Services, focusing on corporate reactive asset repair while driving cost savings through reduced reactive works and improved reliability.
- Reliability Engineering Leadership: Apply reliability engineering principles, such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and condition-based monitoring, to identify and mitigate failure patterns, enhancing overall asset performance.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in asset management, reliability engineering, or facilities management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role. Proven track record in developing and implementing global asset management and reliability products and strategies, with a focus on failure prevention and cost reduction. Experience with Capital Investment Plans (CIP), cost modelling, and predictive maintenance at a site and portfolio level.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in reliability engineering methodologies, including FMEA, RCA, and condition-based maintenance techniques. Proficiency in asset management software and tools (e.g., Field Flex, CMMS platforms) to support predictive maintenance and data-driven decision-making. Strong data analysis skills, with experience in identifying failure patterns and optimising maintenance schedules to reduce reactive works. Knowledge of statutory certifications and compliance requirements for diverse asset types.
- Personal Skills You Excel: Great leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders globally. Strategic thinker with the ability to align reliability engineering and asset management with organisational goals. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel internationally as needed to support global operations.
- Familiarity with managing diverse asset categories, including fabric, catering, and vertical transportation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings through reliability improvements and reduced reactive maintenance.
