About the Role
As an Approved Electrician/Wireman, you will be involved in the installation and testing of HV systems on a substation project. You’ll work to strict safety and quality standards, supporting the successful and compliant delivery of key project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing and maintaining HV distribution systems, SCADA, signalling and control equipment
- Small wiring and multi‑core cabling
- Fault‑finding, diagnostics, and electrical testing
- Completing installation paperwork, test sheets, and daily logs
- Interpreting drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications
- Safe operation and upkeep of HV tools and testing equipment
- Working effectively with engineers, supervisors, and wider project teams
Requirements
- Previous experience working on HV substations
- Strong understanding of HV safety and industry regulations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings
- Proven experience with testing and inspection
