We are currently seeking 2 experienced LV Authorised Persons (LVAPs) to join a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) substation project in Eccles, Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a large-scale renewable energy project at a critical stage, helping establish and manage site-wide electrical control systems as the project goes live.

Location: Eccles, Scotland

Start Date: ASAP (ahead of July energisation phase)

Duration: Minimum until September 2026, with potential for extension

Rate: CIS (competitive, dependent on experience)

Hours: Excellent hours available

Role Overview

The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out LV Authorised Person duties, supporting the safe energisation and operation of the site as it progresses into its live phase. You will play a key role in implementing and managing control systems across the site, including:

  • Key control and access procedures
  • Permit-to-work systems
  • Energisation processes across multiple switch rooms and battery units

The project consists of:

  • 8 switch rooms
  • 28 battery units per associated switch room

While the role is primarily LV-focused, there will be some interface with HV SAP teams, as the LV battery systems back-feed into a 33kV transformer.

Requirements

  • Current LV Authorised Person (LVAP) authorisation
  • Proven experience carrying out LVAP duties on large-scale or live sites
  • Relevant electrical qualifications and certifications
  • Strong understanding of safe systems of work and energisation procedures
  • Ability to work confidently in a live operational environment

Desirable:

  • Previous BESS, substation, or energy infrastructure experience
  • Experience working alongside HV SAP teams or on HV/LV interface systems
