We are seeking a Shift Engineer to deliver high-quality electrical and mechanical services across critical engineering environments. This role operates on a continental shift rota and requires someone confident working with minimal supervision while maintaining high technical standards.
You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment while ensuring all work meets agreed operational and performance criteria.
We are looking for an engineer who takes pride in providing a reliable, professional service to clients and who is committed to meeting deadlines, safety standards, and customer satisfaction benchmarks. You will play a vital role in supporting critical assets and ensuring that systems remain resilient and fully compliant at all times.
Shift Pattern over 28 days:
- Week 1: 4 × Night shifts
- Week 2: 6 × Day shifts
- Week 3: 1 × Day shift, 3 × Night shifts
- Week 4: Off
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide electrical and mechanical service, repairs, maintenance, and installation across critical engineering environments.
- Complete electrical PPM, proactive, and reactive tasks issued through the helpdesk within agreed timeframes.
- Work proactively on critical assets and systems to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Carry out contractor control duties, monitoring workmanship to ensure compliance with required standards.
- Ensure all equipment operates in line with specified performance criteria.
- Maintain equipment and surrounding areas to agreed company standards.
- Represent the company professionally to ensure customer satisfaction and positive client relationships.
- Evaluate equipment performance and ensure servicing and maintenance duties under contract are completed as required.
- Liaise proactively with clients and escalate concerns to management where necessary.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications:
- City & Guilds 2330 or NVQ Level 4 / ONC in an electrical-biased discipline.
- City & Guilds 2391. 17th Edition.
- Any other relevant electrical trade qualifications.
- Full UK driving licence.
