We are seeking a skilled Fire Door Maintainer and Installer to deliver high-quality fire door inspections, remedial works, and installations across Exeter, Cornwall, and the wider Southwest region. This role will utilise a new ISS-invested system designed to support visual inspections and ensure best-in-class service delivery. You will work to the highest standards, aligned with BM Trada Q-Mark requirements, while travelling across a diverse property portfolio.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in carpentry/joinery, confident in fire door regulations and maintenance practices. As part of a newly formed and growing ISS team, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance, enhancing safety, and supporting continuous service improvement across all ISS sites in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct visual inspections on fire doors using ISS’s newly implemented inspection system.
- Complete remedial works including door and door set replacements, seals, painting, signage, and associated tasks.
- Carry out fire door surveys, maintenance, and installations in line with BM Trada Q-Mark standards.
- Deliver Fire Door PPM, remedial repairs, and installations via helpdesk requests within required timeframes.
- Provide accurate remedial quotations for required works.
- Collaborate with ISS teams across Southwest sites to ensure SLA compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and administrative requirements.
- Ensure full adherence to H&S regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH guidelines.
- Support occasional carpentry/joinery tasks as instructed.
- Suggest innovations and service improvements to enhance quality and performance.
- Experience working with internal and external fire doors, including knowledge of current regulations (ideally BM Trada).
- Background in carpentry or joinery, with NVQ, City & Guilds, or time-served equivalent.
- Full driving licence (essential for a mobile regional role).
- Willingness to travel across Exeter, Cornwall, and the Southwest as required.
- Keen to undertake BM Trada training for maintenance, installation, and repair techniques.
