Fabric Engineer
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40
Location: Leeds, LS2 7UA (covering Castleford, Selby, York, Dewsbury, Morley, Scarborough and surrounding areas)
We are seeking a Fabric Engineer to deliver high-quality building services maintenance across a portfolio of commercial client properties throughout the Yorkshire region. The mobile role will see you working across a wide variety of sites, carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance to ensure buildings remain safe, well‑presented and fully operational. With strong customer‑facing responsibilities, you will act as a trusted on‑site representative, providing a professional and solution‑focused service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks issued via the helpdesk across multiple commercial sites.
- Deliver a wide range of fabric works including carpentry, tiling, decorating, minor building repairs, door and lock replacements, and ceiling/floor repairs.
- Support general building maintenance activities, including light plumbing and mechanical work.
- Use PDA/digital systems to record job updates, compliance activity and completion notes.
- Adhere to Health & Safety protocols including RAMS and statutory requirements.
- Identify follow‑on works or remedial needs and escalated where necessary.
- Provide excellent on‑site customer service and uphold company standards at all times.
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabric/building maintenance within a commercial FM environment.
- Confident in multi‑trade duties with a strong core in carpentry or general building fabric repairs.
- Competent delivering both reactive and planned maintenance independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using handheld devices and CAFM/PDA systems.
- Health & Safety awareness and safe working knowledge.
- Full UK Driving Licence (van, tools and fuel card provided).
