We are looking for a skilled and proactive Building Services Engineer to join our Technical Services team. You will play a key role in maintaining the building’s mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all users. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards.

As a Building Services Engineer, you will support the maintenance operations on-site, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include planned and reactive maintenance, assisting contractors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. Flexibility to work night shifts and participate in the on-call rota is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems.
  • Operate and maintain Building Management and Planned Maintenance systems.
  • Respond to site emergencies and assist with retailer maintenance issues.
  • Liaise with and oversee contractors as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean maintenance workshop and site environment.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping within the CAFM system and office files.
  • Support compliance with health and safety legislation and site emergency procedures.
  • Assist with training and development of other staff.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to workplace audits and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide support for project teams and other ISS staff as needed.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in Mechanical & Electrical qualification.
  • City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Inspection & Testing qualification (2394/5).
  • Previous experience in building maintenance within a service industry.
  • Strong organisational and IT skills.
  • Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
