We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Assurance Manager to provide strategic leadership, governance, assurance and compliance oversight for all asbestos management activities delivered under the contract.

The successful candidate will act as the appointed asbestos lead, ensuring asbestos management arrangements remain fully compliant with contractual requirements, statutory obligations and industry best practice., We are looking for a professional who can establish and maintain effective asbestos governance processes, assure the quality of surveys, management plans and remediation activities, oversee supplier performance, and provide confidence that asbestos risks are being effectively identified, managed and controlled across the estate.

The role will work closely with operational, technical and client teams to drive continual improvement in asbestos management performance.,

  • Act as the contract lead and duty holder representative for asbestos management arrangements.
  • Ensure delivery of all contractual asbestos management requirements and associated KPIs.
  • Maintain compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Approved Codes of Practice and HSE guidance.
  • Develop, implement and maintain the contract Asbestos Management Plan and supporting procedures.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of asbestos governance arrangements across the estate.
  • Establish and manage assurance programmes to verify compliance with contractual, regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Review and approve asbestos surveys, reinspection reports, risk assessments and management recommendations.
  • Oversee asbestos registers, annual reinspection programmes, refurbishment and demolition survey requirements, and asbestos remediation activities to ensure effective risk control.
  • Proven experience managing asbestos compliance within large and complex property portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of asbestos governance and assurance frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience managing asbestos management programmes within Facilities Management environments.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of asbestos surveying, risk management and remediation practices.
  • Experience conducting auditing and assurance activities within regulated environments.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications and Professional Requirements

  • BOHS P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings.
  • BOHS P402 Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
  • Demonstrable asbestos management and compliance experience.
  • Experience managing asbestos management plans and assurance programmes.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
